The Healthy Butcher
Looking for locally raised and organic meat and sustainable seafood? The Healthy Butcher at 565 Queen Street west is a must visit. Friendly service, organic baked goods, rubs and relishes , cooking gadgets and a fabulous array of local meats will definitely keep me coming back! I picked up a delicious Ontario Muscovy duck breast (which I tranformed with a rhubarb, ginger reisling sauce) and a Berkshire center Loin pork chop and I am simply wowed!
The Spice Trader -877 Queen Street West.
Walls of beautiful gleaming Olive Oils, the perfume of exotic spices, luxurious syrupy balslmics…If you have not yet been to
The Spice Trader at 877 Queen Street W. in Toronto, you really need to go. Be transported to exotic lands filled with sun and spice and feed your foodie eyes with walls of inspiration and be pampered with excellent customer service. More than a shopping trip, it is truly an experience.
For The Love of Cake
Another reason to love living in Liberty Village. On the way back from the farmers market today, I decided to indulge myself in a decadent cupcake from For the Love of Cake. I have been hungrily consuming their daily flavour updates on twitter for weeks and today was the day I was going to be in salted caramel heaven in real life! Greated by a simply stunning tiered Victorian cake…complete with a gorgeous shoe, this beautiful clean airy space is filled with endless varieties of delicious cupcakes coconut, salted caramel, and caramel apple to name a few.
I fear this may become a Sunday Ritual the perfect place for girly girls or try one of their man cakes such as maple bacon, guiness, or tequila.
Sweet endings for Sunday.

The Village Cheese Monger in Liberty Village-steps from For the Love of Cake
This store simply is a cheese lovers heaven and the people who own and work at it are fantastic and eager to help you find true love…well at least some cheese. I was on the hunt for Italian Burrata that they had tweeted about last week but sadly it was all gone. They did however share some great thoughts about it and what the difference in taste and texture was compared to the local varietal. I will definitely be putting my name on their list for when it is due to make a return to Canada. In the meantime there are so many others to taste. Below is a small video which captures why they do what they do and why we love them. Give me Liberty!
